Evaluations
Each year the players and parents are given an opportunity to express their views regarding the coach of their team as well as the program in general. This is extremely important to the program and helps the Association in making decisions for the upcoming season.
There are two ways to complete/submit an evaluation. If you click on the underlined 'parents' or 'players' above, you will be taken to a paper version of the form that you can print out, complete and mail in. In addition, an online evaluation form is available and is the preferred method of submittal. Click on the arrow immediately following to access the online form.
Evaluations are due to the league representative no later than the date of the last regular fall season match. You may, however, complete this process at any time during the season. Please note that each time you file an evaluation for a specific team the most current evaluation will write over the previous evaluation.
Instructions for Completing the Evaluation Form:
- Please be objective about each answer
- Consider each question in isolation and not compared to another question.
For example, if you have a grudge against the coach such as you feel not enough playing time was given or not enough opportunity was given to play certain positions, don't score low across the board. However, having said that, if the opportunity was given to be able to do everything you/your player wanted to do, but you/your player never had to attend practice, do not score high across the board. Scoring low or high across the board will not give an accurate accounting of a coach's strengths and weaknesses. Please keep in mind that this process is designed to help coaches improve their effectiveness. The evaluation is not to be used as a tool to "slam" the coach. Constructive criticisms coupled with suggestions for improvement will be appreciated. Abusive comments are considered unworthy of the process and will be censored.
- While there is no requirement for names on the evaluation form, a good rule to follow would be to ask yourself if you would discuss in person with the coach what you are writing in the manner it is being written.
- Please be accurate with the scoring.
Scoring a "1" means that there is lots of improvement needed (i.e., doesn't know the game - can't play the game). Scoring a "5" means that the coach is great (i.e., knows everything there is to know - is able to do it all).
- This process is confidential. If you choose to submit a written evaluation for, please place your completed evaluation in an envelope and mail it to the following address:
SnVYSA, Cascade FC
PO Box 370
Carnation, WA 98014-0370.
Only the coach and the Club Administrator will be reading the evaluations. A compiled report will be provided to members of teams if they so request.
Thank you for taking the time to answer the questions on the evaluation form. |
